Once more in West-Bengal on suspicion of killing and raping a young lady. One individual has been detained by Krishnanagar police on suspicion of murder.

A half-burnt and half-clean body of an 18-year-old girl was found in Krishnanagar town of Nadia district last Wednesday morning. A few hours after leaving the house, he said he was going out for pizza. The dead body was first spotted by some locals during a morning walk at a Durga Puja pandal in the area.

According to the source, the deceased girl was a class 12 student. The dead body of the young woman was found just 500 meters away from the office of Krishnanagar Superintendent of Police.

Her family alleged that their child was first raped and then killed. The police also arrested a young man on their complaint.

Police said they have questioned the woman’s parents and arrested the youth based on the complaint lodged with them. It is not yet confirmed that the girl died on the spot, from where her body was recovered. No sign of fire was found in or around the place, the Superintendent of Police (Krishnanagar Police Station) said.

The police are now checking the CCTV footage of the area. Now only the postmortem report can determine the cause of death, to determine whether she was raped.

The girl’s mother said, her daughter (deceased girl) went out on Tuesday around 5 pm and when she did not return till 9:30 pm, we started looking for her. I think my child was raped and killed.

According to the girl’s sister, the girl (deceased girl) had a relationship with the arrested youth, the boy wanted to break the relationship with my sister. I told her to be patient, don’t worry, everything would be fine. I suspect that the boy (the arrested youth) along with his friends raped and killed my sister.

On the other hand, the young woman’s last Facebook post was, “No one is responsible for my death, I am responsible. Stay well.” In response, the girl’s mother said, “We searched for my daughter throughout the night.” My daughter was forced to write this Facebook post to portray the crime as a suicide.

Local people and opposition party leaders protested in front of the Krishnanagar police station, prompting the magistrate to demand a CBI probe.
