The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the attack in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. TRF chief Sheikh Sajjad Gul masterminded the attack. It was on his orders that these attacks were carried out targeting Kashmiris and non-Kashmiris. The TRF has been active in Kashmir and has been targeting Pandits, Sikhs, and migrant workers for the past year and a half.

According to sources, the terrorist group has been carrying out attacks for the past month – on a construction site in the Sonamarg area of Ganderbal district. They had been running a plan here for a long time. And it is also known that two to three terrorists are carrying out the murder.

According to initial reports, doctors and laborers were working on the tunnel project, which connects Gagnir with Sonamarg in Ganderbal. Officials told news agency PTI that the terrorists carried out the attack when workers and other workers working on the Gunde Tunnel project in Ganderbal were returning to their camp in the evening. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister “Omar Abdullah” has strongly condemned the attack on these unarmed innocent people.

Sunday’s attack in Ganderbal came after terrorists killed a migrant worker from Bihar in Shopian district on October 18. This year in April last year, a migrant worker was shot dead by terrorists in an attack in Anantnag district, followed by a similar attack. Following the incident, the police and army cordoned off the area to nab the attackers.
