According to sources, the terrorists were hiding near Khurejogwan Asan temple. Security forces attacked the terrorists hiding near the temple in Khurejogwan village. A few deafening explosions were heard after intense firing on Tuesday.
Army dog Phantom dies in a fresh encounter in Akhnoor
Security forces attacked terrorists hiding near the Asan temple in Jogwan village of Khur on Tuesday after intense firing and several deafening explosions. during this operation, A brave four-year-old army dog ”Phantom” was killed by gunfire. Phantom was shot dead during this deadly operation. Initially, the army deployed four of its BMP-II combat vehicles for surveillance around the attack site, and helicopters and drones were also deployed to detect terrorists hiding in the jungle. According to sources, the three terrorists are believed to have entered from across the border the night before the attack.
Encounter in Akhnoor sector: Two terrorists killed
The encounter by security forces including Special Forces and NSG commandos took place in a village in Akhnoor sector, where they launched an anti-terror operation. According to the army, terrorists were hiding near Asan temple in Khurjogwan village. Yesterday, Monday evening, one terrorist was killed, and his body and weapons were recovered. A second terrorist was also gunned down as the operation continued till Tuesday morning.
The militants are suspected to be affiliated with Jaish-e-Mohammed
The terrorists were suspected to be associated with the Jaish-e-Mohammed terror group and were dressed in army fatigues. The presence of heavily armed terrorists was first reported by villagers hiding near the Asan temple in Jogwan village in Akhnoor. The incident comes after a series of terror attacks in Jammu and Kashmir for two consecutive weeks, in which more than a dozen people were killed.
